Analysis
My fee for a first
time READ of a screenplay is $325 for a
full-length feature or TV show. This will
include the page-to-page notes, questions,
thoughts, ideas, suggestions for dialogue line,
action sequence, character arc, or story changes
(without actually making them) and answering any
questions you might have. This will include your
pitch and introductory letters to agents or
managers.
This is not a
reader's report. Reader's Reports or Script
Consultation, for me, is a waste of time for
writers. All it does is tell you what is wrong
(in one person's opinion), rather than get you
to think for yourself, and make you a
better writer.
I keep my eyes on
the things that sometimes writers lose track of:
structure
style
format
beats
buttons
character development
dialogue
action sequences
your pitch
sales and development
When
we meet, I will charge $95/hour additional, for
brainstorming and working out script details. For
answering all those questions and for listening to
you, the writer, defend things, that I am sure if I
ask them, will be VERY hard to defend and might need
some changes. This is a tiring process and after 2
hours most people find that enough, so I do try and
finish this in 2 hours. Some scripts do take more
time and can be continued over a period of days.
And
of course, it is your option not to meet with me,
but to do this on-line and in that case, the initial
$325 will be the total charged.
When and IF you desire me to read your script again,
or no matter how many times again I read it, the
price will be $250 each time I read it, and the
usual $95/hour additional for giving notes if we
meet.

Script Doctor
I am not
going to write your script for you! I am afraid that
is your job! But script doctoring is a slightly more
invasion approach to your script than Script
Analysis. I will actually make the changes onto your
document (of course I do it in "red," and your
original draft is kept safe.) But this way you can
see how I, a professional writer, would move your
script in new and exciting directions.
Again,
I am not
going to write some reader's report just to tell you
what your own script is about! Talk about a show biz
scam! What I do is actually help guide, and make
sure what is it in your head comes out on the page.
